The company was founded as D. Möhling in 1843.
Initially production was limited to chain making.

The first steam powered machine was purchased in 1871.
Production was expanded to include wire drawing and bedsprings.
At this time the production of cold & hot forged rivets also commenced.

From 1928 Möhling also produced pressed blank screws on horizontal presses.

Since 1950 there has been a rapid increase of chipless and chip removal
subsequent working of the produced bolts.

In 1967 the first multi-station cold header was delivered. The principal of
cold forming in combination with supplementary operations holds good
for our production even today.
